MPI'S UNDERGROUND PDS SOLUTIONS

Our Underground PDS is a vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian (if PPS cap lamp solution included) detection system. The system provides the vehicle operator with audible alarms and visual alerts in close proximity to other vehicles with PDS systems and/or pedestrians with PPS cap lamp units.

The PDS systems runs mainly on RTD (Real Time Detection) technology and provides a 360° safety zone around the point where it is mounted on the vehicle. Our solutions range from single to quad RTD solutions with customizable safety zones depending on client needs.

The PPS (Pedestrian Protection System) is integrated into a cap lamp solution. This system ensures that vehicles in close proximity are made aware of the pedestrian’s proximity, and vice versa. The unit provides a visual alert via ﬂashing LED light and sounds an audible alarm to alert the pedestrian of nearby vehicles. Both the LED and alarm are located below the lamp.

These PDS and PPS solutions greatly improve operator and pedestrian awareness and safety in underground mining environments.

ON-BOARD DATA LOGS

All our PDS and CAS systems record on-board data logs which show vehicle and event data, such as event types, warning levels received, date, time, position (latitude & longitude), heading, speed, as well as nearest vehicle type, ID and distance.
